Press Release - BABAMNA visit at the Cameroon Ambassy in Washington DC

Press Release

In the implementation of its action plan aimed at bringing together all Bassa Bati Mpoo sons and daughters living in North America for mutual assistance and the realization of major projects. Aware that any effective collaboration for the blossoming of our community in North America requires, as pre requisites, an acknowledgement of our organization by all competent authorities.

BABAMNA was officially received by His Excellency Mr. Henri Etoundi Essomba, Ambassador of Cameroon in the United States on March 12, 2024. The discussions centered around the main goal of BABAMNA to identify and unify all Bassa Mpoo Bati living in North America and how the Cameroonian Ambassy could play a major role to help achieve that goal. M. Ambassador congratulated the group for its worthwhile endeavor and professionalism and pledged its support.

Also, BABAMNA used the opportunity to discuss and present the Grand Convention Bassa Mpoo Bati hosted by BABAMNA in Atlanta from August 30 to September 2024 as a marquis event to showcase the culture and values of the Bassa Mpoo Bati to the American people.

Finally, when asked if there were major issues from our constituencies the Ambassador should be aware of, BABAMNA highlighted complaints around consular services and BABAMNA suggested that the consulate be brought closer to Cameroonians anywhere in America, for example by opening consular posts in other US cities. Mr. Ambassador appreciated the proposal and pledged swift action.

Pr. Zachee Pouga Tinhana, Avocat, President BABAMNA
