Following the first edition in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 2022, BABAMNA (Bassa Bati Mpo’o North America) is hosting its second convention in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, during the Labor Day weekend, from August 30th to September 1st, 2024.
The BABAMNA Convention, Atlanta 2024, is organized on the theme, “Catalyzing our unity for a thriving Bassa Bati Mpo’o diaspora in North America“. It will provide a unique opportunity, for three days, to showcase the immense potential of the Bassa Bati Mpo’o community in North America, have robust discussions on the best ways to ignite the dynamism, vitality and ingenuity of the Bassa Bati Mpo’o daughters and sons, and to chart new paths forward to engage the North American public and other communities.
A variety of activities are planned: (1) a tour of Atlanta historic sites and a welcome reception and networking dinner on Friday; (2) a general assembly, breakout sessions, roundtable and African Cultural Gala with an exceptional lineup of African artists and performers on Saturday; (3) A visit to a historic black church, a BBQ and a celebration of our traditions on Sunday.
An exceptional panel of leading personalities from Africa and Europe will take part in the BABAMNA Convention, Atlanta 2024: (1) Belka Tobis (artist, musician); (2) Frida Choco Bronze (artist, comedian); (3) Emile Kanguè (artist, musician); (4) Perrial Nyodog (Captain of industry, oil and gaz); (5) Professor Jean Bahebeck (Surgeon, politician, opinion leader); (6) Honorable Cabral Libii (Member of Parliament, Political leader); (7) Coretta Minlend (CEO at Cameroun Audit Conseil International); (8) Vincent Nkong Njock (CEO at iLEMEL, Author).
For the Organizing Committee of the Convention, ATLANTA 2024 must lay the foundations for a decisive change in governance and operational framework that makes BABAMNA manifest itself: (1) in the short term, as an effective mechanism for Bassa Bati Mpo’o associations to do more, faster and more sustainably through collaboration, a consultative platform for the stakeholders and elites of our community, as well as a resource for capitalizing on the most promising ideas for our community; (2) In the medium term as an effective tool for transformative projects such as the development of a repository of Bassa Bati Mpo’o professionals in North America and an effective sectorial mentoring program; (3) in the long term as a major player in the realization of structuring and high impact projects such as the creation of a Bassa Bati Mpo’o bank in North America or the construction of communication routes and the electrification of villages and localities in Cameroon.
The BABAMNA Convention, Atlanta 2024 is the summer event to which all members of the Bassa Bati Mpo’o community in North America, members of other immigrant communities and the North American public are invited, to celebrate the dynamism and immense potential of the Bassa Bati Mpoo community and promote productive exchanges beneficial to all.
