Welcome to BAMBAMNA!
A new way forward in building a more unified and thriving Bassa Bati Mpoo diaspora in North America.
It is an absolute honor for me to welcome you here and introduce you to the new and decisive way forward for the people of Bassa Bati Mpoo origin living in the United States of America and in Canada. We dreamt of it, longed for it, deliberated around it, and today, I am delighted to report that it is a reality: the Bassa Bati Mpoo Association of North America (BABAMNA).
Noticing the substantial number of Bassa Bati Mpoo descendants in North America, we became convinced of the necessity to know one another and unite forces for mutual aid, the promotion of our culture and the realization of major projects. To that end, representatives from places across North America including New York, New Jersey, Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, Maryland, Washington, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, California, Connecticut, Michigan and Virginia, assembled in Manhattan on October 19, 2019, for a special conclave. The immediate outcome of the conclave was the creation of BABAMNA as the federating instrument, and the “Solidarity Bassa Bati Mpoo’ (SOBATAM) as its initial sponsored project. Today, BABAMNA is a dynamic non-profit organization registered in the United States and Canada and headquartered in New York.
BABAMNA’s immediate mission is threefold: to put all the Bassa Bati Mpoo people and friends in network to collaborate for better impact; to promote genuine traditional African values of solidarity and compassion for mutual assistance; and to promote the Bassa Bati Mpoo culture in North America and around the world in order to assure its preservation for future generations.
BABAMNA is an association of associations and we are here to provide services to our members. As an example, we already provide a platform that facilitate the collaboration between our members all throughout North America to foster a more unified and thriving community. We facilitate the sharing of ideas amongst our members; identify and promote innovative community projects being piloted by our members; and uniquely amplify the actions of our members for greater impact. Ultimately, we afford our members a continental reach and audience and a unique connectedness that is conducive to efficient and impactful collaboration.
Dear brothers and sisters, there is absolutely nothing we won’t be able to achieve if we unite and work together. BABAMNA presents this unique opportunity for us to write the history of the Bassa Bati Mpoo people in North America. It is time for us to forego the artificial sub-divisions of our people and to start working, talking, and eating together to show the way to our future generations.
At BABAMNA we have big plans, grand aspirations, and noble objectives. Our community needed this new approach, new energy, and new commitment. BABAMNA has now laid that groundwork. Please join us, we need you to carry out this necessary work. We need you, your energy, your vision and your ideas. Please join us today because together, we will!
