The association Bon Ba Djob is based in Quebec City in the province of Quebec in Canada. Its missions include the following:
- Facilitate the bonding and development of solidarity links between members of the Basaa Bati Mpo’o diaspora in the Quebec city area;
- Contribute to the integration and individual growth of its members in Canada
- Promote and preserve the common identity of the Basa’a Bati Mpo’o people, their cultures and traditions
Bon Ba Djob welcomes any person interested in promoting its mission regardless of their origin. Their are several types of membership:
- Active members must regularly participate to the activities of the associations and must attend at least half of the regular monthly meetings. They muststay in good standing and fulfill all their financial obligations.
- Friends of Bon Ba Djob any person who support financially and volunteers regularly.
- Honorary member status is afforded to some individuals who have rendered outstanding services to the community and/or Bon Ba Djob.
Bon Ba Djob regularly carries out community projects locally or in Cameroon. Some recent examples include the donation of interactive tablets to schools in Cameroon and the creation of training activities for young Basa’a Bati Mpo’o including promoting the learning of our native languages.
Bon Ba Djob has various solidarity mechanisms in place including:
- A Solidarity fund to help members during some important life events: new born, marriage, death and graduation.
- Incentive to enroll to at least one community mutual fund such as RPN or SOBATAM.
- Njànguí púbà ñèm : Voluntary donations for diverse causes.
